Setting up my new blog

I had to do a little bit of reading before I could actually start on my new blog.  What helped me is the book Blogging For Dummies by Susannah Gardner and Shane Birle.  That was a great help.

Reading through the book gave the feeling that Blogs are easy to set up and publish.  You need to have a goal for a good blog.  The goals are;

  • Setting goals for what you would like to achieve with your blog
  • the number of visitors you would like to attract a day and if you would you like your visitors to leave you comments.
  • One of the important aspects of a blog is to make use of good writing.
  • Be active on you blog and update the blog frequently (by updating your blog frequently it will be picked up on search engines for each post you add)
  • You need to interact with your reader.

All of the above seems pretty easy.  The only problem I am faced with now is, what am I going to blog about?

    Great to see the focus on goals – an area sometimes neglected by businesses thinking they’ll set up a social media site.
